Editor: Ruadhan J McElroy
Ruadhan was music editor for a short-lived alt.culture fanzine (editor-in-cheif, Subrina Khan), during which time he interviewed Rodney Anonymous of The Dead Milkmen. He has penned two novels, Simple Man (July 2007) and New Dance (July 2009). He is also a musician who has worked with Indiana-based electronic musician Jason Crowe/Pandable and contributed to a tribute album to his friend, UK-based avantgarde punk pioneer Karl Blake. His personal practises (and sometimes unasked-for socio-political opinions) are blogged about on Urban Hellenistos and Of Thespiae.
Full-Time Reviewers:
Regular reviewers add a new review a minimum of once every fortnight (two weeks, to Americans), though they are free to update as frequently as they like. Current full-timers are:
- AingealOreiad: Jessi is Hellenistai.com’s resident peace-nick, NeoPlatonist and fence-sitter. She hold a B.A. in English and is currently pursuing an M.S. in College Student Development (mainly for the free classes once she’s working–Classics degree for free!). She is particularly devoted to Hermes, Hephaistos and Athene, both personally and professionally. Anamnesis is her spiritual journal, and Reflections is her mundane journal (updated MUCH more frequently).
- Kayleigh Annyikha: Kayleigh graduated from Smith College with a BA in English and is currently working on her MLIS. She took exactly one Classics course, Greek Mythology, for fun in undergrad. Kayleigh is a devotee of Apollon and the Mousai, although she worships Hermes and Athene professionally. She has created two blog novels, Akačehennyi and Ossia, and has published several poems in pagan ‘zines. She also writes KALLISTI. Currently in grad school, Kayleigh will move to seasonal deadlines when her classes start.
Part-Time / Seasonal Reviewers:
Part-time or Seasonal reviewers are required to produce at least one new review per calendar season. Deadlines are determined by the next Solstice or Equinox. Like with full-timers, deadlines are a minimum, and part-timers can update as frequently as they like, as long as the minimum deadline is met. Current part-timers are:
- Kyrene Ariadne: [she's a little teapot, short and stout — actually she's pretty skinny and one of many women taller than me]
If you wish to become a full-time or part-time contributor, please make sure you can adhere to the minimum deadlines, and please make sure you can show Ruadhán a few samples of your writing; though attached documents in an e-mail look more professional, amateurs are accepted, and even links to your LiveJournal (or other blog or web-diary) count as samples of your writing. This is a labour of love, so a lengthy writing resume doesn’t matter as much as how well you write and commitment to the deadlines.
As of 5 August 2010…
We are seeking at least one additional Full Time and two additional Part-Time reviewers, due to Kayleigh’s upcoming classes, which will restrict her to seasonal deadline commitments.

If you do not feel that you can commit to either deadline schedule, we are always taking suggestions for media items to review. If you know of anything we have not yet written about, feel free to send an e-mail to suggest it.
